3 Times You Should Consider Clothing Donation

Donations for non profit organizations

Everyone likes to do something nice for people in need. Many charity organizations let you donate clothes to give to those who are less fortunate, all while reducing waste and clearing out space. Here are just a few instances when you should consider utilizing a clothing donation service.

The clothes don’t fit – If you’ve got small growing children, or just a lot of clothes in the wrong size, don’t keep them around. You’ll be able to make a lot of extra space in your closet or dresser, and you won’t have to worry about trying to fit in to those unflattering clothes. Take them to a local clothing drop off, and keep them from piling up in a landfill.

The clothes are still wearable – Some of your clothes may be out of style, or they’re just not items you’d like to wear anymore. Bringing them to centers looking for donations will make sure that these perfectly useful articles of clothing don’t get wasted or thrown away. Your clothing donation should be in clean, gently used condition, with no major holes, rips, or tears. (They also shouldn’t have any visible stains or spots.)

The clothes take up too much space – Sometimes, it’s just a matter of eliminating excess. If you really do just have too many clothes, take the time to stop and think about those in need. Could someone benefit from articles of clothing that you haven’t even touched in years? If the answer is yes, do your part and donate clothes to your local charity organization.

When you donate clothes, you’re playing an active role in reducing the amount of wasted textiles that go into landfills every year. You’re also giving help to families who need it, all just by sharing things you aren’t using. Think about donating some of your clothes today.
