Keeping Your Furniture Clean And In Good Shape Throughout The Years

May 29, 2019

The furniture that makes up your home is really quite important indeed. After all, furniture is immensely necessary for achieving comfort and even a certain sense of welcome in our homes. Therefore, having the right furniture matters a lot to many people, and having the right furniture is an absolute must for many people and home owners in terms of self expression as well. Thanks to this, the furniture industry is thriving, particularly here in the United States. As a matter of fact, more than $100 billion in sales was generated in the year of 2015 alone, all within this industry and all within the United States. By the time that we reach the year of 2021, now just a couple of years in the future, the overall market value per year will have exceeded $122 billion.

There is, then, quite obviously a great deal of furniture out there. This furniture ranges from high quality furniture that will stand the test of time to lower quality furniture that is more for show than anything else and will likely need to be replaced sooner rather than later. For many people, the better the furniture is made, the more likely they are to buy it. After all, durability is a key factor for more than 90% of those looking to buy furniture in the near future. In fact, more than 35% of those who are buying a couch expect it to last them at least half of a decade, if not up to nine full years. And more than one full quarter of such people are hoping to buy a sofa that lasts them for as many as 15 years – and sometimes longer, for that matter.

This will likely mean buying furniture that is higher quality – and higher priced. However, much of this higher priced furniture is made through the use of high quality fabrics that will resist staining and any of the damage that daily life can bring to them. Synthetic suede is one such option, repelling both stains as well as water damage and even serving as a viable alternative to real suede, ideal for both cost and for those who might be looking to avoid the use of animal products as much as is possible if not just completely. But if synthetic suede isn’t your thing, there are a number of other materials out there that can be truly just as good.

You might choose any other type of tightly woven fabric as well. In most cases, all types of tightly woven fabric will have the effect of repelling both dirt and water. As you might guess, this will help to not only prevent actual stains, but to keep your furniture cleaner for longer as well. Therefore, the use of such fabrics is resistant to the damage of time, thus helping your furniture to last for as long as possible before you ever even need to consider getting new furniture.

Of course, there are ways to protect and preserve even furniture that might not be quite as high in quality. For instance, slipcovers ranging from pet bed covers to tub chair slipcovers to even just pillow covers can go a long way in preserving your furniture. Even pet bed covers can be essential, as pet beds are likely more expensive than you might realize – especially if you’ve never bought one before. Pet bed covers can provide an easy way to let your pet rest in comfort, as pet bed covers are easy to wash and remove from the pet bed in question. And slipcovers such as pet bed covers are typically not all that expensive either, making pet bed covers and the like an investment that is most certainly well worth making, to say the least. In addition to pet bed covers, things like sectional couch covers can also be ideal, as too can sleeper sofa covers. At the end of the day, no matter what quality the actual furniture might be, it’s essential to remember that furniture is an investment for your home, and protecting it should be a top priority for families all throughout the country.
