Why You Should Be Using an Adjustable Bed

What makes an adjustable bed such a worthwhile investment? Many people have already found that they’re able to get a better night’s sleep while sleeping on an adjustable bed instead of a flat bed, and it’s actually a very simple explanation: flat beds just cannot provide the support that your body needs to stay comfortable at night.

Because the human body naturally has curves (the spine itself is actually curved in an “s” shape), it’s difficult to find a comfortable sleep position when lying on a flat bed. A flat mattress creates empty space when the body contours, specifically at the neck, lower back, and knee areas. Without support, these contours require muscles to keep steady at night while the individual is sleeping, which often results in muscle tension, aches, and pains after hours of being strained.

With adjustable beds, every contour is supported with the proper mattress position because the mattress itself is flexible enough to be adjusted to a customized position. This allows the person to find comfort while sleeping and it minimizes the number of times which the individual is likely to wake up because of an uncomfortable position.

It may not seem like a big deal, but a good night’s sleep is one of the best things you can do for yourself! If you’re getting enough sleep at night, you’ll spend about 3,000 hours lying on your mattress every year; you definitely want to make sure that you’re getting high quality sleep during every one of those hours. Sleep deprivation is something that affects millions of Americans today, and it’s something that can have very real side effects on your physical health, mental wellbeing, and overall happiness. When it comes to improving your sleep quality, any investment is definitely a worthwhile one!
